Support Santhosh To Bring Back The Smiles On The Faces Of 300+ Elderlies And The Mentally Ill

There are some moments in life that leave you with plenty to think about, and there are some that change you forever. Santhosh MV experienced a life-changing moment back over ten years ago when he visited a government hospital.

“There was a patient who was old and alone. He had no family or no one to even ask how he was doing. I couldn’t help but feel bad. I then took him home and helped him with everything I could. But I lost him after 8 days. That was the turning point for me. I realised that there are probably many people like him who die alone with no proper care. Especially those who are mentally ill or old.” - Santhosh M.V, Founder, Kripa Charitable Trust

That was just the beginning for Santhosh, and since then he has rescued hundreds of people. Today, he needs your support to continue his mission.

Over 300 Have Found A Safe Home Thanks To Santhosh

Santhosh knew he wanted to help others, but he finally decided to start Kripa Charitable Trust after an old man once came to his house asking for food. Santhosh not only gave him food, but also a place to stay, after which he decided he wanted to help many more people like him. Kripa Charitable Trust was then established in 2000.

Kripa Charitable Trust is a home for the elderly and mentally ill who have no family and no source of income. These seniors are helpless and have no one to lean on. Santhosh’s aim is to care and serve them with compassion and kindness and bring back happiness into their lives again. He wants to give them access to long term health care. Every senior citizen they work with has a unique background and unique needs. So all of their programs are designed based on the specific needs of the elderly - whether it’s rehabilitation, fitness programs, physical assistance or scheduled medical check ups.

“These people deserve the best care. They’ve been through so much already, and during these last few years of their lives they need to be loved and cared for. We now have over 300 residents, out of which 200 have a mental illness, 94 are senior citizens and 6 of them are visually impared. My goal is to give all of them a better life.”

Your Support Can Change Their Lives

Shanthosh has given so many people a place to call home, but unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he struggles to continue caring for them. The lockdowns and lack of donations set them back. They struggled to even afford meals for their residents.

“It was a very difficult time. It might seem like things are improving now, but we’re still a long way from where we want to be. I can’t do it alone any longer and need your help to give these people the home they deserve.”

Santhosh needs your help to get grocery kits so that he can give the 300+ residents of Kripa Charitable Trust nutritious meals. These meals will keep them healthy and bring back the smiles on the faces of hundreds.
